Detective Kazuma Asano (Nobuaki Kaneko) faces times off from work due to a specific case. He then meets model Rena Kurusu (Yu Yamada), who possess a special vision ability. They then pair up to solve difficult cases together.
Makoto Tsugano (Keiko Kitagawa) is a medical intern. Recommended by physician Kojin Tsukuba (Ikko Furuya), whom she respects, Makoto Tsugano receives training at a forensics medicine classroom. There, she feels the classroom has a weird atmosphere. Professor Tojiro Kosaki (Kyohei Shibata) leaves the classroom and Makoto is alone in the classroom. She answers a phone call and hears a girl's voice asking "is that the place where autopsies are conducted?" The girl wants an autopsy performed on the body of a woman who died in a car accident. Her father was involved in the car accident. Even though the police conclude that an autopsy is unnecessary, Tojiro Kosaki presses ahead with the autopsy. Makoto doesn't understand Tojiro's excessive ways, but the autopsy reveals a hidden truth.
High school student Jinta (Nijiro Murakami) is a hikikomori and lives in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. One summer day, when Jinta is absorbed in a video game, a girl suddenly appears in front of him. The girl is Jinta's childhood friend Meiko (Minami Hamabe), but it seems impossible because Meiko died on a summer day. Meiko wears the same white dress when she died, but she looks a little taller. She tells Jinta that she has a wish and that's why she came back as a ghost, but Meiko can't remember what her wish was.
To grant Meiko's wish, Jinta along with his friends Atsumu (Jun Shison), Naruko (Airi Matsui), Chiriko (Marie Iitoyo), Tetsudo (Yuta Takahata) and Meiko gather together for the first time in 7 years. Jinta soon realizes that he is the only one able to see Meiko.
Detective Keita Kurokouchi (Tomoya Nagase) continues to extort money from politicians whom Keita Kurokouchi has information on. By using his information he is able to crack unsolved cases. Rookie Detective Mayo Seike (Ayame Gouriki) is excellent with her job and also a bit naive. She conducts an internal investigation on Detective Keita Kurokouchi, but they become partners and work on cases together.
Rena Sasaki (Keiko Kitagawa) is a beautiful woman with excellent memory and intelligence. She becomes a private detective and risks her life to chase down evil private detectives, because her younger sister was murdered by a stalker. The person that provided information to the stalker on her sister's location was a private detective.
Hisashi Ieji (Takuya Kimura) works for a securities company. 5 years ago, Hisashi Ieji had an accident at the place where he was sent to work. Due to the accident, his recent memories have become blurred. He also doesn't have any feelings for his wife Megumi Ieji (Aya Ueto) or 4-year-old son. To him, its like his wife and son are wearing masks. Hisashi Ieji does have fond memories for his ex-wife and daughter. He divorced his ex-wife 5 years ago. To find out what happened to him for the past 5 years, Hisashi Ieji goes on a trip to find himself and he takes 10 mysterious keys.

Yamato and his friend Miku Odagiri (Kyoko Yoshine) find an old man, Akira Shoji (Teruyuki Kagawa), stabbed and lying in the street. The old man tells Yamato that his father is the criminal in the 300 million yen case. That night, Yamato’s father, Tetsuya (Toshiaki Karasawa) disappears and 3 days later his body is found drowned in Tokyo. Yamato and Miku find themselves caught in a whirlwind centered around the still unsolved stolen 300 million yen case from 1968.
