Reiji (Satoshi Ono) is young CEO of a first-class hotel. He is single and 34-years-old. Even though he has a good appearance and wealth, women eventually leave him because of his personality. He is generous with himself, but strict with others. For the first time, Reiji falls in love with someone. Her name is Misaki (Haru). Hoping to gain her love, he begins to change.
Kohei Kamishiro (Masaharu Fukuyama) worked as a musician in his past. He only had one hit song and his recording contract was eventually cancelled. He became devastated and left the field of music.

Kokoro Kurosawa (Haru Kuroki) used to be a contender for the Olympic Judo Team, but she now begins work at weekly manga magazine "Baibusu." She learns about editing from senior editor Kei Iokibe (Joe Odagiri). She becomes fascinated with the edition world including talking with manga writers, discovering new manga writers and efforts to reprint manga books.
The publishing industry is going through a turbulent time due to ebooks. Members of the editorial department struggle to come up with ways to sell more manga books.
Yuka Shima (Mayu Matsuoka) works as an OL at a large general trading company. Suddenly, she is transferred from her office to an aquarium that is affiliated with her company. She now works as a keeper at the aquarium and her senior is Kaji (Kenta Kiritani). Yuka Shima struggles with her new job and marine animals, but with her bright personality she is able to grow as an aquarium keeper.
Sixth grader Ayase Chihaya, a tomboy with no ambitions or goals of her own, gets to know Wataya Arata, a transfer student at Chihaya's elementary school and an outcast. Through Arata, Chihaya picks up karuta and they form a team with their other friend and classmate Mashima Taichi. After graduating elementary school, Chihaya continues to play karuta hoping for a chance to meet Arata again after he went back to Fukui to take care of his sick grandfather. As time passed and Chihaya enters high school, she starts a karuta club with Taichi so that they can finally meet Arata again.
Ayumu Ichinose (Yuto Nakajima) began to play Go from an early age. He focused only on Go and dreamed of becoming a professional Go player, but he repeatedly failed tests to turn pro. He is now 22-years-old. This is now his last chance to turn pro, because of the age limit of under 23-years-old. The day before his test, his mother collapses from overwork and is hospitalized. Ayumu fails again.
Ayumu is dejected that he can't become a pro Go player and spends his days as a part-time worker. His heartbroken mother asks acquaintances to make Ayumu take the last step step of an employment test at a general trading company. The last step is a one month internship at the general trading company. Aware of his mother's heartbroken feelings, Ayumu begins to work as an intern there. He quickly becomes known around the office as an intern that doesn't know anything and unable to even make simple document copies. Nevertheless, Ayumu decides to not give up and become an employee at the company.
Takanashi Chiwa is an office lady who works part-time at a club because she is in debt. One day, she gets into a quarrel with a wealthy and handsome customer who came to the club and is fired. Hinako Todo (Haru) is a rookie detective assigned to the #1 investigation team at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. She became a detective, because she wants to find the boundary between people who kill and those that do not.
She always carries with her a shichimi (pepper powder) bottle which was left by her late mother. She sprinkles the shichimi onto everything she eats. One day, Hinako and her colleague detectives go to an area where a body was found. The case is presumed to be a suicide case, but the dead man is a suspect in an unsolved murder case. The man died in the same manner as the victim in the unsolved murder case.
Mihane Yoshiyama (Yuina Kuroshima) is a 3rd grade high school student. She is a member of the photo club at her school. The day before her summer vacation, she smells a lavender scent in the science lab and she suddenly gains the ability to leap through time. Shohei Fukamachi (Fuma Kikuchi) is Mihane’s classmate. He actually came from the year 2122 and is a researcher. Shohei lost a drug that allows him to go back to 2122. In the meantime, Shohei hypnotizes those around him and lives as a high school student.
Mihane and Shohei become to have feelings for each other.
